Biography
Amb.(ret.) KIM Jae-shin has been the Senior Adviser of the Center for Japanese Studies at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security(IFANS) and Adjunct Professor of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy(KNDA) since 2018. Before joining the KNDA, he, as a career diplomat, served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of the Philippines(2015-2018) and the Federal Republic of Germany(2012-2015), Secretary to the President for Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister for Political Affairs, Director-General of Northeast Asia Bureau and the Director of Northeast Asia Division I of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Previously, he worked at the Embassies of the Republic of Korea in several countries such as Japan, People’s Republic of China, the United States of America, and the Republic of the of Myanmar.
He graduated from Korea University with a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations and also studied at the Graduate School of Korea University(International Political Studies).
