Biography
국방대학교 안보정책학과 부교수로, 현역 육군 소령이다. 육군사관학교를 졸업하고 연세대학교 정치학과에서 석사학위를 마쳤으며 2017년 University of Arizona에서 아랍의 봄 이후 전환기적 정의와 민주화에 대한 논문으로 박사학위를 받았다. 현재 국방대학교에서 중동안보론, 중동정치론, 중동 정세 등을 강의하고 있으며 중동 각국의 군사문제, 민군관계, 중동지역 분쟁, 정권안보 등에 관심을 갖고 연구하고 있다. 최근 “민중시위와 시민사회의 성장-알제리 히라크를 중심으로”(한국중동학회논총, 2021), “1970년대 이란의 핵 개발 동인”(국제정치논총, 2020), “미국 동맹정책 변화에 따른 미국-사우디아라비아 관계변화”(국제지역연구, 2020), “미-중-이란 삼각관계와 한국”(중동연구, 2020) 등을 게재하였다.
Eunbee KIM is an associate professor of security policy at the Korea National Defense University and an Army major(active). She graduated from the Korea Military Academy, completed her master's degree in politics at Yonsei University, and received his doctorate from the University of Arizona in 2017 with a dissertation on transitional justice and democratization after the Arab Uprising. She is currently lecturing on Middle East Security, Middle East politics, and Middle East affairs at the Korea National Defense University. Her area of interest lies in the Middle East military issues, civil-military relations, conflicts, and regime security. She recently has published articles in academic journals (in Korean): "People's Demonstrations and the Growth of Civil Society-Algeri Hirak" (2021), "Iran's Nuclear Development and its Motivation in the 1970s", "Change in U.S.-Saudi Arabia Relations" (2020), etc.
