Biography

Dr. Park is a principal research staff of the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI), a fully government-funded research institute for astronomy and space science in Korea. He had served as the director of the Space Science division and planning division at KASI. His primary research interests are Space Geodesy including the GNSS, and Space Situational Awareness. He is also interested in the international collaboration on various space research areas not only GNSS but also space weather and space exploration.
He is currently a member of various national committees for space-related R&D programs and space policy including the Committee on Space Development Promotion and the Korean Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO) mission. He was the board member of the International GNSS Service (IGS) and is currently serving as the Chair of the Korean National Committee for COSPAR (Committee on Space Research) and the chair of local organization committee for the 45th COSPAR Scientific Assembly (COSPAR 2024) which will be held in Busan, Korea, 2024. He holds a Ph.D. in Space Science from Yonsei University, Korea.
