Biography
정진한은 2012년 요르단 대학교에서 한-이슬람 교류사로 석사학위를, 2020년 영국 런던대학교 동양아프리카 대학(SOAS)에서 문명교류사로 역사학 박사학위를 받았다. 2008년부터 한국문명교류연구소에서, 2020년부터 단국대학교 GCC국가연구소 연구원으로 근무 중이다. 2019년부터 한국외대 등에서 이슬람 사상과 동서교류사를 강의하고 있으며, 교수신문의 글로컬 오디세이에 칼럼을 연재중이다. 문명교류사, 이슬람 지리사상사, 중동학을 연구 중이며, 《Creaeting the Medieval Islamic Geography by using Korea》, 《이슬람 세계가 신라를 황금의 섬으로 인식한 관념적 연원: 세상의 동쪽 끝 황금 섬들의 신화에 대한 인식론적 분석》, 『신라와 실크로드(공저)』등의 논저를 펴냈다. 현재 한국이슬람학회 편집이사를 맡고 있다.
Jeong Jin Han is a historian researching at the GCC Institute at Dankook University and the Korea Institute of Civilizational Exchanges. He was awarded his M.A of History from University of Jordan, Amman and PhD of History from SOAS, University of London. He published related to the history of inter-civilizational exchanges, Islamic Geography, Middle Esatern Studies. His research includes “Creating the Medieval Islamic Geography using Korea”, “Conceptual Reasoning Behind Silla becoming the Golden Island in the Medieval Islamic World: An Epistemological Analysis of the Legend of the Golden Islands at the Eastern End of the World”, Silla and the Silk road(co-authored).
