Biography
Amb. Han Dong-man is currently working as Counsel in the Center of ASEAN-India Studies of the Korean National Diplomatic Academy. He served as Korean Ambassador to the Philippines from Jan. 2018 to Dec. 2020. After joining in the Foreign Ministry in 1985, he has held Secretary posts in Algeria, the United Kingdom, and Australia as well as in the Office of the President in Korea. He served in various roles in the United States, first as Consul at the Korean Consulate in New York and then as Minister-Counsellor at the Korean Embassy in Washington D.C. He served as Consul General in San Francisco from 2013-2016. In the Korean Foreign Ministry, he worked as Director General of the International Economic Affairs Bureau and Deputy Minister for Overseas Koreans and Consular Affairs. He received the Order of the Service Medal in 2012 and the Order of Merit from the Philippine government as well as the Congressional Medal of Achievement from the House and the Senate respectively in 2020. He earned his BA at Yonsei University in Korea and his MA at the Pantheon-Sorbonne (Paris 1) University in France.
