Hee-Ok Lee currently serves as a Professor of Political Science at Sungkyunkwan Univ. and vice president of the Korean Political Science Association. In academia, he served as President of the Korean Association of Contemporary China Studies and an advisor to the inter-Korean summit at Blue House, a policy advisor to the MOFA, the Ministry of Unification, Seoul City, and Gyeonggi-Do. He is a board member of the Sejong Institute and the Northeast Asian History Foundation. He is a chair and professor at Jilin Univ., Tongji Univ., etc. He has served as a special inviting professor at Nagoya University, and a visiting scholar at the University of Washington. He has published 50 books and book chapters. He won the 2017 Academic Award from the NEAR Foundation.
