Myoung-kyu Park is a professor of Emeritus at Seoul National University and endowed professor at GIST. He has previously been a President of the KSA (Korean Sociological Association, 2017)) the Director of the Institute for Peace and Unification Studies (IPUS, 2006-2016), and President of the Korean Social History Association (2002-2004). His research fields are; social history, sociology of nation and national identity, inter-Korean relations, conceptual history, and social change of technology. He wrote several books and articles including; Sociology of Borderline in Inter-Korean Relations, Seoul: Changbi Co.
