Biography

Kim Hyun Chul is a Senior Research Fellow at the Northeast Asia History Foundation's Research Institute for Korea-Japan Relations. He graduated from the Department of International Relations at Seoul National University and received his Ph.D. from the same university for his research on modern Korean diplomacy and the Enlightenment faction. He has served as a research professor at the Korea University Peace Institute and a visiting researcher at the University of Tokyo. He has lectured on topics related to East Asian history and Korean politics and diplomacy at various universities, including Seoul National University, Korea University, Sungkyunkwan University, and Ewha Womans University. His primary research interests include the peace concepts of Korea, China, and Japan in the context of changing international relations in Northeast Asia, as well as the processes and strategies for regional cooperation. Currently, he conducts research and lectures on East Asian relations and Korea-Japan relations at the Northeast Asia History Foundation."
