JUNG Keun Sik received his B.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from Seoul National University. Jung served as a professor at Chonnam National University and he is a Professor of Sociology at Seoul National University. Professional affiliations include Chair of the Korea Association of Genocide Research, a member of the board of directors for Jeju 4.3 Peace Foundation, Chair of the Korean Oral History Association, Chair of the Korean Association of Cold War Studies, Chairman of the Seoul National University Council, and Director of the Institute for Unification and Peace. The main books are <Cultural Politics of Memories and Commemorations of the Korean War: The War Memorial of Korea Study> and <The Island of the Cold War, the Rebirth of Geummundo Island>.
