Born in Seoul in 1968, Esther Lee holds a B. A in Spanish from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and a Master's degree in telecommunications from Ohio University, in Athens, Ohio. Since joining Arirang TV, Korea's first 24-hour English channel in 1996, she has built her career in TV productions, programming, global marketing, and strategic planning for 25 years. In recognition of Arirang TV's overseas expansion, she was awarded the 2017 Korea Communications Commission Chairman's Award and completed her Ph.D program, majoring in the national brand at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in 2019. Currently, she is conducting a study comparing the characteristics of media public diplomacy with the analysis of the national images reflected in YouTube news related to COVID-19.
