Biography
Ho Min Kim has been a professor at Jeju National University in the Department of electrical engineering since 2011. Originally from Jeju Island, he received a Ph.D. from Yonsei University in February 2002 and completed his postdoctoral course at MIT in the United States. In 2004, he worked as a senior researcher at LSIS Co., Ltd. and at the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute from 2006. Over the past 20 years, he worked on various projects including the development of 24kV-class resistive type SFCL, 5MW-class superconducting synchronous motor technology for ship propulsion, and 10MW-class superconducting generator for wind turbines. He is currently in charge of research and education on green energy and novel material application technologies at Jeju National University.
