Biography
Sebastian Kasack has been working in the humanitarian mine action field for 25 years and since 2016 for the UK NGO Mines Advisory Group as Senior Community Liaison Advisor. Sebastian is German and holds a master's degree in Geography, from the University of Bonn and a postgraduate degree in Developing Countries from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. He is also a certified mediator and gained an advanced course certificate in conflict transformation (Bern). Before joining MAG, Sebastian worked for the United Nations (UN Mine Action Service, UNICEF, and UNDP), other NGOs, and as a consultant. Sebastian visited South Korea in May 2021 as part of a MAG delegation providing capacity-building support to the ROK Army and training mine action stakeholders from the Mekong region who are receiving KOICA funding; facilitated by the Seoul Cyber University.
