Biography
Dr. Kwon, Goosoon is head of International Cooperation and North Korean Studies and dean of the Future Multidisciplinary Studies at Seoul Cyber University, where he has been devoted to teaching international development, globalization, and peacebuilding past ten years. His research focuses on humanitarian assistance, UN peace operations, and civil-military cooperation. As the external consultant, Dr. Kwon has taken the lead in a feasibility study and M&E to the ROK-Mekong peaceful and inclusive community development program through mine action, funded by the ROK government since 2018. Before joining academia, he had a variety of field experiences, including relief and development and post-conflict peacebuilding and reconstruction in the RC/RC movement, INGO, and UN mission (UNMIL). At present, Dr. Kwon has served as chair of the general affairs committee of the Korea Association of International Development and Cooperation(KAIDEC); a member of the advisory committee on the Council of Organizations for Grant Aid (MOFA); a member of the expert committee on Peace and Development (KOICA); and member of the advisory board on humanitarian affairs (KCOC). Dr. Kwon received a DPhil. in international relations from the Graduate School of International Studies at Korea University.
