Biography
Hyunsoo Kim is the president of the Korean Planning Association, a member of the national land policy review committee of the Prime Minister’s Office, a member of the state-owned property policy of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, a member of the metropolitan area transportation committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, a member of the Central Real Estate Disclosure Committee, a member of the National Legislative Council of the Ministry of Legislation, and the SME policy of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. He is currently serving as a member of the Gyeonggi-do Urban Planning Commission and as an advisor to the Happy City Construction Authority, LH, GH, HUG, Incheon Metropolitan City, National Railroad Corporation, and Korea Real Estate Agency. At Dankook University, he served as the Dean of Admissions, Dean of Social Sciences, and Dean of the Graduate School of Real Estate Construction. He obtained his Ph.D. from Seoul National University in ‘Research on Urban Planning in North Korea’(1994) and is also interested in the study of the Seoul-Pyongyang metropolitan area, DMZ, and railway community research. Recently, he has been interested in research on mega-city construction for balanced regional development, new deals for urban regeneration based on hubs, technological revolution, and post-Corona cities.
