Biography

Solene le DOZE holds a degree in Agronomy and an MSc in Environment and Natural Resources Economics, Solène has 17 years of experience in managing programs and supporting policy processes promoting sustainable natural resources management. She worked in the field of ecology in Zimbabwe and in sustainable development in Guadeloupe in sustainable rural development, managed the scientific bilateral cooperation portfolio of the French Embassy in Indonesia then supported national United Kingdom policies on recycling and sustainable procurement of natural resources. In 2009, she joined the United Nations, first as the interim secretariat of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) at UNEP with a focus on Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Officer. In 2014, she joined UNDP as the global Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (BES-Net) Coordinator, where she developed and managed a capacity-building network of 85 international key organizations involved in biodiversity and ecosystem services. She joined ESCAP in September 2017 as an Environmental Affairs Officer, where she manages a portfolio on natural resource management and sustainable development across Asia and the Pacific, and in particular, is the focal point for UN-Water and water-related activities."
