Biography

MICHIGAMI Hisashi graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Tokyo and received a Master of Arts degree in International Relations of East Asia from Harvard University. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Japan in 1983 and assumed the positions of Minister of the Embassy of Japan in China and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Japan in Korea, among many others. He was appointed Secretary-General of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat in September 2019. He authored several books including Japanese Diplomat in Korea (2001) and China Sees Japan This Way (2010), published numerous articles, and received many interviews in Japan, China, and the ROK. "
