Biography

Lee Jaeyoung finished his Doctoral and Master's degrees at the Seoul National University, Graduate School of International Studies, majoring in Chinese Politics(Central-Local Relations, Local Governance) in 2017. He studied Chinese language at the Hankook University of Foreign Studies’ undergraduate school. Currently, he serves as a research fellow at the Korea Institute for National Unification. His research focuses on an analysis of the correlation between Chinese domestic affairs and foreign affairs in terms of various issues, such as Korea-China relations and North Korea-China relations issues. In addition, he is now working on a research project on the Chinese development model’s implications on North Korea’s development model. After he finished his Doctoral degree, he worked as a research professor at the SSK Research Center for Climate Change and International Law, Yonsei University. During that period, he wrote a lot of scholarly journal articles including “Factors Affecting China’s Climate Change Policy after the Paris Agreement: Focusing on Internal and External Variables,” “The Role of the State in Developing China’s Emerging Strategic Industries: The Center’s Ideas and Local Interests,” and “The Role of the Decentralized Regulatory State in the Chinese Automobile Industry: A Comparative Case Study of Local Independent Enterprises, Geely and Chery Auto Groups.
