Biography
Dr. Jun Byoung-Kon is currently a Senior Research Fellow at KINU. Dr. Jun’s research focuses on Chinese politics, international relations in Northeast Asia, and China-North Korean relations, etc. Dr. Jun Byoung-Kon received his B.A. from the Literature Department of the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies where he also earned his Ph.D. in Political Science. He was a Vice-President at KINU(2019-2020), a visiting researcher at the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations (2009), and a visiting professor at the Harbin Normal University (2011) and National Chengchi University (2011-2012). He has been a member of the Standing Committee of the National Unification Advisory Council(NUAC) from 2013 to 2015 and has been working as an adjunct professor at the Graduate School of International and Area Studies of Hankuk University from 2013 to 2015. He is the author of “China’s Sanctions on North Korea after Its Fourth Nuclear Test (2017),” “Seeking a Unification Strategy Based on the Changed Conditions for Unification After North Korea’s 4th and 5th Nuclear Tests and Ways to Spread the Public Consensus on Unification (2017),” and “Development of Sino-DPRK Relations after the Establishment of Diplomatic Ties between South Korea and China: Trend Analysis and Evaluation (2016).”
