Biography
Chang Soo Jin achieved his master’s degree in Political Science at Sogang University in August 1988, after having graduated from Sogang University (B.A. in Political Science) in 1986. Jin started as a researcher of International Relations at the University of Tokyo in October 1989, entered the Ph.D. program in April 1990, and received his Ph.D. degree in Political Science in October 1994. Senior Research Fellow of the Sejong Institute (July 1996), Visiting Fellow of the Institute of Social Science at the University of Tokyo (August 2001 – February 2002), Visiting Scholar of the School of Law at the University of Tokyo (March 2002 – July 2002), Board Member of the Korean Political Science Association, Board Member of the Korean Association of Contemporary Japanese Studies, Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of the Republic of Korea (February 2004 – December 2007), Vice President of the Sejong Institute (February 2007 – June 2009), Visiting Scholar of SAIS, Johns Hopkins University (October 2010 – July 2011), Distinguished Professor of the Graduate School of Public Policy at Hokkaido University (August 2011 – March 2012), President of Center for Japan Studies of the Sejong Institute (July 2002 – Present), President of the Sejong Institute (2015 – 2018).
