Hisashi HIRAI is a Visiting Research Fellow, at the Institute for Far Eastern Studies, Kyungnam University / Contributing Editorial Writer, Kyodo News. He has worked for Kyodo News since 1975 and also served as the manager of the Seoul Branch, and correspondent in Beijing. He became a Senior Feature Writer and an Editorial Writer in 2007 and left Kyodo News in 2012.
