Biography
Youngchul Chung is an assistant professor at Sogang University’s Graduate School of Public Policy. He received his Ph.D. in <A Study on Kim Jong-Il Leadership> from Seoul National University. After that, he served as a researcher at the Graduate School of International Studies at Seoul National University, a visiting scholar at the University of British Columbia in Canada, and a researcher at the Ewha Institute of Unification Studies. As the director of the Peace Education Center at the Okedongmu Children, a Korean NGO, he is engaged in civil peace education activities. Recently, he has published books such as <Seeing Division through the Perspective of Peace>, <Connecting North and South through the Perspective of Coexistence>, and <Changes in North Korea during the Kim Jong-un Era>. His interests are North Korea and unification, and peace on the Korean Peninsula, and he is actively engaged in academic and civil society activities.
