Biography
James Hubbell has become a world-renowned and award-winning artist and architectural designer over the past sixty years and has shared his inspiring vision of the spirit of nature through his art and architecture. Through the use of nature’s materials, forms, and colors, Hubbell combines his reverence for the environment with art and beauty. James attended Whitney Art School and Cranbrook Art Academy. His work incorporates buildings, sculptures, stained glass windows, and doors to name a few. He strives to have art and architecture work together. One of James Hubbell's primary dedications is to bridging differences. He helped for over 20 years in the design and building of Colonial Esperanza Schools in a poor neighborhood of Tijuana, Mexico. Since 1992 he has helped bring to life six parks around the Pacific Rim with students and the Pacific Rim Park Organization he has a vision of an eventual Pacific family. He feels, “Art and beauty can bridge prejudice, build lasting friendships, change people’s visions of how they are and what is possible in life; to change our myths.”
