Biography
Donyun Kim is a Professor of Architecture and Convergence Engineering For Future City at Sungkyunkwan University and runs Smart Green City Lab. He was chairman of the National Smart City Committee and has served as a member of the Presidential National Building Policy Committee and a member of the Green Growth Committee. Currently, he serves as the representative of the leading base University for UN Sustainable Development Goals and is in charge of the Yongsan Urban Regeneration Plan. He has been leading as a master planner for a number of urban design projects, including Sangam Digital Media City (DMC), the 2012 Yeosu World Expo Master Plan, and the planning and design of the National Science Business Belt (IBS) project. He established the master plan and “Economic and Social plan” of the high-tech industrial district in Da Nang, Vietnam together with UN-Habitat, and led the conceptual design of the Baikal Smart City in Irkutsk, Russia. For these achievements, he was awarded the Medal of Service from the state.
