Dr. KIM, Hankwon is a professor of the Department of Asian and Pacific Studies as well as the head of the Center for Chinese Studies at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS), Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea. Dr. Kim was a member of advisory committees of the Ministry of National Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the ROK-US Combined Forces Command, and he also has been a standing member of the National Unification Advisory Council. Before joining KNDA, Dr. Kim was a research fellow and the director of the Center for China Studies at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies in Seoul, South Korea. He holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from American University.
