Biography
Mr. Cheng Yonghua, who holds Honorary Doctorates from J.F. Oberlin, Soka and Hiroshima Universities, is currently serving as executive vice president of the China-Japan Friendship Association. He is a former Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan; and member of the 12th CPPCC National Committee. Mr. Cheng has been engaged in diplomatic work for more than 40 years and is China’s longest-serving ambassador to Japan to date. He has witnessed the development and twists and turns of China-Japan relations and has made outstanding contributions to enhancing friendship and cooperation between China and Japan.
