Biography
Sadatoshi Oshiro has been deeply engaged in his creative work with a strong interest in how the memories of war should be remembered. In South Korea, he is known for his novel set against the backdrop of the Pacific War and the Battle of Okinawa, which tells the story of a village in Okinawa where a cemetery, known domestically as the K Cemetery Death Registry, is located.
He has also emphasized the importance of addressing the issue of the Japanese military's "comfort women," stating that the ultimate goal of raising awareness and striving for a resolution is not only to advocate for women but also to eradicate war, inhumane crimes, and violations of human dignity and human rights, thereby promoting peace and equality. In addition, he has written numerous works, including the novel Atom’s Sky and the poetry collection Or Perhaps an Insignificant Little Story.
