Deputy Secretary-General CAO Jing received a Master of Arts from Wuhan University. She joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of China in 2000, and began her diplomatic career in the Department of Asian Affairs of MOFA and Chinese Embassy in India. Since 2008, she served in different posts as Deputy Director of the Department of Asian Affairs of MOFA, Director of Political Section of Chinese Embassy in Singapore, and Director of Department of Asian Affairs of MOFA. She became Counselor and Director of the Department of Asian Affairs of MOFA in 2016 as well as National Coordinator of Langcang-Mekong Cooperation China Secretariat in 2017. She became Deputy Secretary-General (DSG) of Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat in October 2019.
