Biography

Seung-chul Chung received his Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science at the University of Florida. He is currently workings as a research fellow at the Jeju Peace Institute. His research interests include peace and conflict in East Asia, political economy of East Asia, China-Japan-ROK relations, and the connection between public opinion and foreign policy in East Asian countries. He is the author of the following articles: “Effects of Trade Relations on South Korean Views of China” (Asian Politics & Policy), “Economic Interest or Security Concerns? Which affected how individuals in five Asian countries viewed China in 2013?” (Asian Journal of Political Science), “Effects of International Trade on East and Southeast Asians’ Views of China” (Korean Journal of International Studies), “The Determinants of China-ROK Relations, 1993-2018: An Empirical Analysis Using Event Data” (Journal of Asian and African Studies)

제주평화연구원 연구위원. University of Florida에서 정치학(국제정치) 박사학위를 받았다. 한양대학교 평화연구소 박사후 연구원을 거쳐 제주평화연구원 연구위원으로 재직 중이다. 관심연구분야는 국제정치경제, 동아시아 국제관계, 연구방법론 등이 있다. 주요논문으로는 “Effects of Trade Relations on South Korean Views of China” (Asian Politics & Policy), “Economic Interest or Security Concerns?
