Biography
Kondoh Hisahiro, Ph.D., is a professor of the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Saitama University, and adjunct lecturer of Vietnam-Japan University. From 2017, he has been serving on the Committee of International Affairs, Japan Society for International Development (JASID) as the chairperson. He was awarded his master’s degree from the School of Development Studies, University of East Anglia, UK, in 1997, and his doctoral degree from the Institute for Politics and International Studies, University of Leeds, UK, in 2003. He has expertise in the analysis of the political economy of development and aid. Dr. Kondoh has published many articles on governance and development as well as emerging donor issues, including papers published by internationally famous journals such as The Pacific Review. Besides his academic career, he has had working experience of the civil service in local government and professional development consultancy.
