황용수 박사는 현재 한국원자력연구원에서 책임연구원으로 근무하고 있다. 1991년 이래 황박사는 한국원자력연구원에서 근무하고 있으며 2014년부터 2016년 동안에는 한국원자력통제기술원에서 정책연구센터장을 역임하였으며 원자력안전위원회 전문위원으로도 2013년부터 2014년까지 활동하였다. 2010년부터 2012년에는 미 워싱턴 DC 소재 CSIS에서 방문연구원으로 활동하였고 2006년부터 2008년 동안 사용후핵연료 공론화 TF 위원으로 활동하였으며 관련 연구 과제를 이끌었다. 2004년부터 2005년 동안에는 IAEA 사무총장 앨버러데이가 구성한 다자간원자력협력 자문위원으로 활동하면서 이란 핵문제 해결을 위해 노력했다. 황박사는 사용후핵연료 관리 연구개발과 정책 도출을 담당하고 있으며 북핵 및 운반수단 현안 문제와 핵비확산 및 안보 문제 연구도 수행하고 있다. 황용수 박사는 서울대학교 원자핵공학과 학사 및 미 버클리 소재 캘리포니아 대학에서 원자핵공학 석박사를 취득하였다.

Dr Yongsoo HWANG is a principal researcher in Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute. He has worked at KAERI for more than 25 years. In between he worked as a director general at Korea Institute of Nuclear Non-proliferation and Control between 2014 and 2016. He also served as a advisory member for the Korean Nuclear Safety and Security Commission between 2013 and 2014. He worked as a visiting fellow at CSIS in Washington DC between 2010 and 2012. He worked as a member for the Task Force Team on the Public and Stakeholder Engagement over spent nuclear fuel management between 2006 and 2008. He served as a advisory group member for the IAEA Multilateral Nuclear Approach which worked for the Iranian deal between 2004 and 2005. Dr Hwang has worked on technology and policy development of spent nuclear fuel management, DPRK nuclear issues, and nuclear non-proliferation and security issues. He got his BS degree at Seoul National University in Korea and MS and Ph D at University of California Berkeley in the United States.
