Biography

Dr. Kim Kyuryoon has researched the themes regarding North-South Korean relations, various aspects of Korean unification, and international dimensions of the Korean Peninsula during his career at the Korea Institute for National Unification (KINU) since its foundation in 1991. His recently published books include Global Expectations for Korean Unification, Lessons of Transformation for Korean Unification, The Attraction of Korean Unification, Modernization and Opening-Up of North Korean Economy, and Political Economy of the Northeast Asian Regional Cooperation. He served as Director of Planning and Coordination, Director of the International Studies Division, and Director of Inter-Korean Cooperation at KINU. He contributed to the academic community of South Korea as President of the Korean Association of Area Studies, Vice President of the Korean Association of International Studies, and Vice President of the Korean Political Science Association. He now works as an Eminent Chair Researcher at KINU.
