Biography

Lee Jae Young received his M.A. and Ph.D. (2017) in Chinese Politics (Central-Local Relations, Local Governance) from the Graduate School of International Studies at Seoul National University and a B.A. in Chinese language from Hankook University of Foreign Studies. Currently, he is a Research Fellow at the Korea Institute for National Unification. His main research focuses on an analysis of correlations between Chinese domestic affairs and foreign affairs within the context of various issues, such as ROK-China relations and DPRK-China relations. He is now working on a research project on the Chinese development model’s implications for North Korea’s development model. After he finished his doctoral degree, he worked as a research professor at the SSK Research Center for Climate Change and International Law, Yonsei University.
During that period, he wrote numerous scholarly journal articles including “Factors Affecting China’s Climate Change Policy after the Paris Agreement: Focusing on Internal and External Variables (2018)”, “Affecting China’s Climate Change Policy after the Paris Agreement: Focusing on Internal and External (2017)”, “Affecting China’s Climate Change Policy after the Paris Agreement: Focusing on A Comparative Case Study of Local Independent Enterprises, Geely and Chery Auto Groups (2018).
