Biography
Dr. Min-Ho Kim is a professor at Jeju National University(JNU). He has studied community-based education from the perspective of lifelong education. He was the president of the Korean Society of Lifelong Education from January 2014 to December 2015. At the Japanese Society of Social Education, he presented Korean discourses of lifelong education and a case study of community-based civic learning in Korea. When he attended UCLA as a visiting scholar from August 2012 to July 2013, he studied on an NGO’s staff learning at a Korean town in L.A. He suggested a national policy of after-school programs in Korea when he was an expert member of the Presidential Committee of Education Innovation from October 2005 to February 2007. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Seoul National University in 1997. He has taught students at a pre-service institution for elementary school teachers in JNU since 1986.
