Biography

Dr. Kim received a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Seoul National University and currently serves as the chairman of the Korean Peninsular Infrastructure Special Committee at the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT). He has served as vice president of the Korean Society of Civil Engineers (KSCE) as well as of KICT. He has also served as an advisory committee member for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT), the Korean National Assembly, and the Board of Audit and Inspections of Korea (BAI). He is recently vice president of the Korean Institute of Bridge and Structural Engineering (KIBSE). Since he organized a research team for the infrastructure development of North Korea in 2011, he has been conducting research activities for the infrastructure development of the Korean Peninsula. His current research focuses on the development of specialized construction technologies for the infrastructures of North Korea.
