Born in Seoul in 1967, Kwak earned an MBA degree from Nihon University after graduating from Kyunghee Univ. and joined JDC (Jeju Free International City Development Center) in 2002 as an original member. He has since held various positions in public relations, sales, planning and coordination, and future investment. Currently, as the director general of a duty-free business group that finances the development of a free international city, he is paying much attention to redefining the role of JDC duty-free business, including seeking ways to internationalize local products that meet the purpose of the agency’s establishment of “Jeju-type” free international city.
