Biography
스즈키 타츠지로 교수는 나가사키대학 핵무기폐기연구센터(RECNA) 부소장이다. 그는 RECNA에 들어오기 전, 2010년 1월부터 2014년 3월까지 일본원자력에너지위원회(JAEC) 중앙 집행실 부위원장을 역임했다. 이전에 그는 일본 전력 산업 중앙연구소 부소장(1996-2009)을 역임했고, 동경대학 공공정책 대학원 초빙교수(2005-09)를 지냈다. 또한, 원자력안전 증진에 관한 MIT 국제 프로그램의 부책임자(1988-1993)로 활동했으며, MIT 국제학센터 부교수(1993-95)로 있으면서 일본 플라토늄 프로그램에 대한 보고서를 공저했다. 또한 과학과 세계의 분쟁에 관한 퍼그워시 회의의 집행위원 및 의원이다(2007-09, 2014년부터). 도쿄대에서 원자력 공학 박사 학위를 받았다(1988).
Tatsujiro Suzuki is a Director, Professor of Research Center for Nuclear Weapons Abolition, Nagasaki University (RECNA). Before joining RECNA, he was a Vice Chairman of Japan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC) of the Cabinet office from January 2010 to March 2014. Until then, he was an Associate Vice President of the Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry in Japan (1996-2009) and Visiting Professor at the Graduate School of Public Policy, the University of Tokyo (2005-09), an Associate Director of MIT’s International Program on Enhanced Nuclear Power Safety from 1988-1993 and a Research Associate at MIT’s Center for International Studies (1993-95) where he co-authored a report on Japan's plutonium program. He is also a member of Executive Committee and Council of Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs (2007-09 and from 2014~). Dr. Suzuki has a PhD in nuclear engineering from the University of Tokyo (1988).
