Biography
Young-Soo Kim is a member of the National Unification Advisory Council and a professor at Sogang University (Seoul, Korea). Prof. Kim served as the Executive Vice-President at Sogang University and served on the Advisory Committee for the Ministry of Unification and the Ministry of Defense. Prof. Kim served as the Chairman of the Korean Association of North Korea Studies(KANKS) and served as the Vice Chairman of the Korean Association of International Studies(KAIS) and the Korean Political Science Association(KPSA). Prof. Kim holds a B.A. (1979) in Political Science, an M.A.(1981) in International Relations, and a Ph.D.(1992) in North Korea Politics from Sogang University. His studies are on North Korean studies, North-South Korean relations, and North Korean refugees. He was a full-time lecturer at the Korea Military Academy from 1981 to 1985 and assistant Professor at the Jeju National University from 1993 to 1996.
