Ku-chong Chung is Chairman of The Korea-Japan Culture Exchange Council and Professor Emeritus of DongSeo University. Chung received his BA and MA from Yonsei University and finished a doctorate course in political science at Keio University in 1995. He joined the Dong-A Ilbo in 1967 and over the years he served as the paper's resident correspondent to Japan, national/city editor, Tokyo bureau chief, managing editor, and executive director. He is currently a member of the Japan Law and Politics Studies Association. He has been a director of the Korea-Japan Forum's Korean Steering Committee since 2003, served as president of the Korea-Japan Future Forum since 2005, and has also served as an adviser to the CEO & President of Donga.com since 2009.
