Biography
Mao Ning joined the Chinese Foreign Service in 1995. She most recently served as political counselor of the Chinese Embassy in the United States from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, she was Deputy Secretary–General of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat in Seoul from 2011 to 2013. From 2006 and 2011, she served as deputy director and director of the Office for Korean Peninsula Issues and participated in several rounds of the Six Party Talks. She has extensive experience in China’s relationship with Southeast Asian countries as well as regional cooperation affairs during her service in the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Ms. Mao Ning holds B.A. in English Language from Hunan Normal University and in International Relations from the Foreign Affairs College, and a master degree in International Policy and Practice from George Washington University.
