• The World Peace Island, designated by the government in 2005, is a leading example of public-private cooperation, which began as residents of Jeju Island had suggested the necessity and rightfulness of the designation. Discussions or follow-up projects to expand or define the purpose of designation have yet to be carried out since the initial implementation of the 17 Major Action Projects.
• Marking the 20th Anniversary of the Designation of the World Peace Island in 2025, The Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity will provide a platform for discussions to reaffirm the importance of the residents’ engagement in innovative ways for Jeju Island to lead world peace.
• During the course of a discussion, we will also seek the active roles of the Provincial Council as a representative institution of the residents of Jeju Island.
