Humanity has overused, misused, and destroyed nature and now we are paying a price, as shown by the pandemics and climate change. We need to suggest fundamental solutions to secure human survival. At the individual level, we can establish cooperative human relationships based on our altruistic egotism. The role of states will be important for this, and eventually, at the international level, it will usher us into reinvented multilateralism. Also, we will need to recognize nature as a sovereign subject and learn to coexist as mutually respectful partners. This relationship will be conceptualized as “humane security”, through which humans will find a way for survival in an era of Pandemics and climate change.
