The world is shifting attention to the foreign policies of the new US government after the inauguration of President Trump. Not yet having revealed most of the foreign policies, the Trump administration consistently criticized the Asian policy of the Obama administration and stressed that all new policies will be grounded on the “America First” principle. However, the US’s strategic interests and its relations with major allies and rivals in Asia-Pacific can’t be overlooked and some prospects show that Trump might suggest another form of “Pivot to Asia.” This session discusses the next policy moves the Trump administration will make in Asia where the US-Japan-South Korea alliance is interlocked with the DPRK issues and rivalry between the US and China.
