The vestiges of past war crimes remain in the East Asia Region. While Korea and Japan reached a landmark agreement to resolve ‘comfort women’ on December 28, 2015, a significant disagreement exists regarding the means of providing compensation and an official apology to the victims. This session examines such issues from the legal perspectives and offers many solutions.
