People in and out of Jeju see the island's future as the world’s renowned Island of Arts and Culture, where people from all over the world come for healing, inspiration, and insight. In May 2015, the World Culture Open (WCO) and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province proclaimed their support for the island’s future and their collaboration in pursuing the common goal. As part of the effort, the WCO and Jeju Province started a Session on Culture at the Jeju Forum. They have been jointly organizing the session with a plan to develop it into a creative global culture forum. Last year, Culture Designers from the Island shared with the public their stories as forest storytellers or interview writers who collect lifetime stories of local grandmas and grandpas.
This year, Culture Designers from six countries are invited to unfold the stories and expectations of their dreams for a better future in diverse topics, including social, environmental, health, and arts sectors. After individual speeches, participants will assemble the puzzle of what they have each suggested, trying to shape the bigger picture of our better tomorrow through open dialogue.

*Culture Designer means an everyday hero, a creative and charming citizen who harnesses his or her talent and passion to make the world a better place for everyone.
