As climate change is becoming more severe, mid-and long-term plans for water supply systems for
island areas are becoming increasingly necessary. Jeju Special Self-governing Province aims to develop
a water management strategy based on the example of Hawaii, a state with similar hydro-geological
conditions which have also dealt with water resource management issues.
