“Elderly man is a library.” An African saying values one’s experience and knowledge-earned during one’s long life span- as equivalent to the words of wisdom found in many books in a library. The session, JDC Old man’s Library, invites a witness, who lived through Jeju 4·3 Incident, to share her life story; to inspire the youth around and across the globe.
The Jeju April 3rd Incident Through Women’s Eyes, a storytelling book published by collaboration between JDC and Jeju 4·3 Research Institute, explains the sight and life of Jeju 4·3 Incident. The translated book had been sent to approx. 450 academic organizations, increasing global awareness of the historical event.
Likewise through this session JDC aims to build empathy on the painful history, as well as to spread the message of peace to the youth.
