There have been many diplomatic efforts for the denuclearization of North Korea. We have observed some progress on this diplomatic front including several summit meetings among North and South Korea, the US, China, and Russia. However, the fact that there has been no concrete agreement between the US and North Korea at the Hanoi Summit held in February foreshadowed pessimistic views on the complete denuclearization of the North. Moreover, the North is making the situation worse by making a jeopardizing move when it put on a show of force in May. This session is designed to share experts’ opinions on the current situation of the Korean Peninsula and the prospect of denuclearization.
