The recent “trade war” between the U.S. and China has seriously impacted the world economy and exerted a substantial influence on politics and diplomacy in Northeast Asia. Professor Paul Krugman, an internationally renowned economics scholar, will lecture on the impact of the global trade war on the security environment in Northeast Asia. Paul Krugman is a Distinguished Professor at the City University of New York and an op-ed columnist for The New York Times. He previously taught at MIT, Stanford, and Princeton. He is the author or editor of 23 books and more than 200 professional journal articles, many of them on international trade and finance. In recognition of his work on international trade and economic geography, Krugman received the John Bates Clark Award of the American Economic Association in 1991 and the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 2008.
