Today, humanity is facing supra-national issues such as low growth, polarization, climate change, energy/nuclear/food/cyber security, and historical and territorial disputes amid a new political-economic order symbolized by the recent de-globalization trend. These challenges will not be solved without cooperation in a concerted manner. It is necessary to share a vision to cope with global and regional issues and resolve them in a common fashion. Thus an agenda for a “cooperative Asia” will be presented at the Jeju Forum and discussed to provide ways for a better future about the universal wishes for peace, prosperity, security, health, happiness, and the elimination of poverty. The Jeju Forum has served as a platform to suggest and share a vision for a peaceful and prosperous future. The common vision can be useful as a guideline for solving interdependent tasks and contributing to establishing a new global order, based on the heightened status of Asia. In the opening ceremony, the main theme of the Jeju Forum 2017, “Sharing a Common Vision for Asia’s Future” will be officially presented
