Corporate ethics reflects the ethical standards required by corporations in compliance with economic and legal responsibility for corporate decisions and actions. A robust U.S. energy company, Enron Corp., made a big issue of accounting scandals in 2001. Awareness of Corporate Ethics was in the limelight as the Corporate Compliance spirit increased after the landslide collapsed overnight. The outbreak made ethical management emerging as a global standard. Due to the changes in the business environment, traditional management practices have become uncertain when running a corporation. People have gradually realized the importance of corporate ethics. Corporate Ethics is a key to maintaining the company’s competitiveness and sustainability. Corporate Ethics should be a long-term trend rather than a fad. Moreover, it has to be ingrained in people’s minds as a management philosophy. To build a healthy corporate culture, corporate ethics must be practiced worldwide.
